More of Paris...Europe Series

A beautiful building we saw as we walked the streets of Paris. It was one many didn't take notice of!
The building and cathedrals are so grand and in such number that many things I found remarkable went unnoticed.

Notre-Dame Cathedral or simply Notre-Dame, is a historic Catholic cathedral. The cathedral is widely considered to be one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture and among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. It was amazing outside and inside!

Point Zero or Kilometer Zero is that location chosen in Paris that all distances are measured from. This small brass plate set in the ground is considered the official center of Paris and, as mentioned, it marks the exact spot from which all distances throughout France are measured (in relation to Paris). I think people put money in the center for good luck like you would in a wishing well.

A beautiful tower we passed walking the streets of Paris.

One of our last stops in Paris was: The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur Basilica and often simply Sacré-Cœur, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. It was at a high peak in Paris so we had an amazing view of the city! This is located on a street with extremely good shopping deals (for Europe, anyway)!

New Years Eve and Day...

We had our traditional New Year's appetizer dinner while we played board games and watched movies until midnight! These two are done with the party by 12:20!
On New Year's Day we went to beautiful Zion National Park for a picnic lunch, a river walk, and an Imax movie (the Hobbit).
Some deer were eating their lunch as well.
The river walk was beautiful!
Some sunlight was peeking through the red rocks.

Our view from the picnic table! Beautiful!
Along the river's edge! It was a little bit chilly, but so nice for January!
